❗ This is not a fully remote position. We socialize twice a week (or more if you dare!) at our Warsaw office.
🌌 About Asynchronics
We are Asynchronics, an up-and-coming, Warsaw-based space tech start-up specialized in the field of digital twinning for spacecraft systems and subsystems.
Our mission: democratize and streamline spacecraft design and ground validation with the use of cutting-edge simulation technologies. Our open-source, Rust-based simulator empowers system integrators and hardware manufacturers to evaluate their solutions in the digital world.
We value inclusivity and strive to foster a collaborative environment where diverse perspectives and experiences are celebrated. We strongly encourage individuals from all backgrounds and identities to apply. Your uniqueness is an asset!
💻 Your Role
We are looking for someone who understands and enjoys working with software engineers, knows how to deliver technical products and projects and is able to build solid relationships with customers and partners.
You would work closely with our founders and engineering team, leading projects for customers, the European Space Agency and European programmes, while helping us develop our own enterprise software.
Here is what we expect you will do:
- Prepare and present project updates and results to customers and internally, making progress, problems and next steps clear.
- Lead projects and product development, keeping track of scope, schedule, budget and deliverables.
- Plan the engineering team’s workload and capacity together with the team, making sure commitments are realistic and everyone has clear priorities.
- Plan and track the product roadmap with the founders, balancing it with customer and project commitments.
- Plan product releases and keep project and product documentation organised and up to date.
- Establish a useful rhythm of planning meetings and progress reviews, following up on agreed actions and helping resolve blockers.
- Identify risks early, work with the team to mitigate them and adapt when the original plan is no longer realistic.
- Introduce a project management tool and way of working that the team will genuinely use.
👱 This is You
Come as you are. We accept that all of us are different and that you may bring something we didn't foresee, but here is what we would expect:
- At least 5 years of experience delivering software projects, including technically complex work and direct collaboration with international customers.
- A background in software development, or substantial practical experience working with software engineering teams. Having worked as a developer yourself would be a big plus.
- The ability to bring order to several parallel projects, make decisions under pressure and follow through.
- Strong interpersonal skills. You can listen, negotiate and communicate difficult news constructively.
- Tolerance and respect towards other people. This is important to us.
- Proficiency in English, written and spoken.
✨ Useful, but not required
- Experience with simulation software, developer tools, embedded systems or other software used by engineers.
- Familiarity with leading and delivering ESA, EC, NCBR or similar projects.
You would join a small team where people have room to influence how we work and are expected to help each other outside rigid job descriptions. We do not expect you to arrive knowing spacecraft engineering. We do expect you to be curious about it.
