❗ This is not a fully remote position. We socialize twice a week (or more if you dare!) at our Warsaw office.
🌌 About Asynchronics
We are Asynchronics, an up-and-coming, Warsaw-based space tech start-up specialized in the field of digital twinning for spacecraft systems and subsystems.
Our mission: democratize and streamline spacecraft design and ground validation with the use of cutting-edge simulation technologies. Our open-source, Rust-based simulator empowers system integrators and hardware manufacturers to evaluate their solutions in the digital world.
We value inclusivity and strive to foster a collaborative environment where diverse perspectives and experiences are celebrated. We strongly encourage individuals from all backgrounds and identities to apply. Your uniqueness is an asset!
💻 Your Role
We are looking for an experienced Rust engineer to work closely with Serge, our CTO and co-founder, on the technical direction of our software. You would help lead the engineering team, make and explain architectural decisions, and remain deeply involved in implementation. It is a hands-on position, which will require implementing parts of the code yourself.
How you will help us:
- Guide the technical work of a growing engineering team through design discussions, code reviews and direct collaboration;
- Design and expand our real-time, low-latency, auto-parallelizing NeXosim simulation framework;
- Develop the NeXosim software ecosystem with front-ends and enterprise tools;
- Choose and evolve our software stack;
- Take ownership of API design;
- Work with the CTO and the Project Manager;
- Establish best practices for code review and CI/CD.
👱 This is You
- Significant professional experience designing and building APIs and complex software, including substantial recent hands-on programming.
- Experience providing technical leadership to other software engineers.
- Strong programming skills in Rust and experience with concurrent and asynchronous programming.
- Good judgement about software architecture: knowing how to build orthogonal, simple, yet efficient APIs.
- Clear written and spoken English.
- Strong opinions, weakly held: you convince through dialogue and embrace technical debate; owning and admitting mistakes is a feature, not a bug.
- You lead by example, with tolerance and respect towards other people. This is important to us.
✨ Useful, but not required
- Experience with simulation software, developer tools, embedded systems or hardware-in-the-loop testing. Previous work in space, aerospace, automotive, robotics or another field involving complex physical systems.
- Experience with graphical user interface development.
You would join a small team where people have room to influence the direction of the software and are expected to help each other outside rigid job descriptions. We do not expect you to arrive knowing spacecraft engineering. We do expect you to be curious about it.
💰 Salary range for the position
- PLN 22,000 – 34,000 net/month + VAT (full-time B2B)
